Heritage Rare Breed Pork

Oxford Sandy And Black are a rare native British breed of pig that has come close to extinction on several occasions.

Native breeds are domestic animals that are well suited to their habitat. It is important to preserve the genetic value of these breeds for diversity, but they also have both ecological and cultural significance too.

Our pigs are born in our woods, where they are free to play and root around, living a care-free existence.

Pigs are intelligent and social animals so we ensure they are always grouped in at least six, and have plenty of toys, such as footballs, to play with, so they don’t get bored.

We suppliment their diet with nettles and vegetable off-cuts from our market garden, plus whatever goodies they find from snuffling around in the woods.

Our method of slow growing is not just better for the pig, but leads to tastier meat for you to enjoy.
